Panathlon challenge

GO Gateshead Sports and Leisure and Tyne and Wear Sport will be running a Panathlon challenge, which forms day 2 of the Legacy Games. The event will take place at Gateshead International Stadium on Thursday 18th May 2017. (Event timetable will be provided once all entries have been confirmed.)

The event is aimed at young people aged 12 -20 with the following disabilities:

  • Physical Impairment (PI)
  • Hearing Impairment (HI)
  • Visual Impairment (VI)
  • Severe Learning Disability (SLD)
  • Autistic Spectrum (AS)
  • Manual Wheelchair (Man W/C)
  • Power Chair (Pow W/C)


Events will include Polybat, Boccia, Table Cricket, Races, Field Athletics and Kurling. Please note teams will be made up on the day for each event, thus each individual may not take part in all events.

Registration will be in Gateshead International Stadium reception between 10.15am – 10.40am.
Team selection will take place in the sports hall at 10.45am.
The first event will commence at 11.00am.
Presentations will take place at 1.45pm. Teams depart at 2.00pm.

Please note there is a maximum of 100 places split across five teams and where possible we would like a cross section of the five authorities. As numbers are limited places will be allocated on a first come first served basis with a deadline for entry being Thursday 11th May at 12noon.
