Birmingham remain top despite suffering second defeat

Birmingham Sports remain top of Division One of the national Partially Sighted Football League despite suffering their second defeat of the season in Birmingham on Saturday, 24th January.

Birmingham got off to a disappointing start after losing their first game 6 to 5 to third-placed North West Scorpions.

Despite their early set back, the league leaders recovered in their next match by defeating bottom side RNC Bulls 3 to 1.

Birmingham then went on to demolish Loughborough Lions 6 to 0 before defeating London Metro A 2 to 1.

Meanwhile, RNC secured their second win of the season after defeating Loughborough 6 to 2, however the Bulls remain ten points adrift at the bottom of the table after losing 5 to 4 to the Scorpions and London.

Elsewhere, London defeated the Scorpions 7 to 1 and Loughborough 6 to 1 to remain in second place.

In the final game of the day, Loughborough defeated North West 6 to 4 in what was arguably the most entertaining match.

Birmingham will look to maintain their position at the top of the table with just eight games remaining.

The next fixtures take place in Birmingham on Saturday, 21st February.
