Following hot on the heels of GB’s incredible success in the Rio Paralympics, British Blind Sport will be staging its annual Festival of Visually Impaired Sport at Bablake School in Coventry and we need your help!
Taking place at 12:00 midday on 22nd October 2016, the event will run throughout the afternoon and allow people living with sight loss from all over the UK to come and try a wide variety of sports – often for the very first time. The sports available to try vary from football, cricket and tennis to goalball, judo and rock climbing.
British Blind Sport, a charity that aims to increase participation in sport for partially sighted and blind people, needs volunteers in order to make the day a success. Lauren Impey, Sports Participation from the charity said, “We are extremely excited about the Festival and the number of visually impaired people that will be coming along to try out a number of sports, but we really need the help of volunteers if we are to achieve our goal of staging a first class event and getting a number of visually impaired people playing sport. If you or anyone you know is available on 22nd October and are able to help, please get in touch.”
