BBS Launch Christmas fundraising campaign

British Blind Sport has launched its fundraising campaign for Christmas 2016, Jingle Balls, which aims to provide sporting opportunities for visually impaired (VI) children. This campaign will raise funds towards BBS' youth fund, which supports visually impaired children by helping them take their first steps into sport.

The youth fund enables BBS to provide opportunities for VI children aged between 4 -16; allowing them to have the same opportunities as their sighted peers.
An example of the charity’s work with children is through the distribution of audible balls - or as it's Christmas, "jingle balls"! Fundraising Manger, Ian Carr said, “A jingle ball is a perfect way to introduce a VI child to sport. Having given a number of jingle balls away as part of our pioneering First Steps project (something we aim to continue in 2017), we know how life-changing they can be. We know that sport increases confidence, improves health, develops relationships and improves communication. So, all we’re asking is for people to donate as much as they can to the campaign and give the gift of sport to a visually impaired child this Christmas.”

A parent of a recipient of a jingle ball said, "It may seem a simple thing, but to have a ball specifically for him has made a huge difference. He loves it and wants to play with it all the time."
