Rovers run riot in the PSFL Division 2

Lisburn Rovers extended their unbeaten run to 16 games to remain top of Division Two in Birmingham on Saturday, 24th January.

The league leaders, who have only dropped two points all season, scored 23 goals in four games.

The team from Northern Ireland started the day strongly by defeating second placed South West Rovers 6 to 1.

Sporting Albion proved to be more difficult opponents for Lisburn, however Rovers went on to win 5 to 2.

In their third game, Rovers were rampant defeating the leagues bottom side Hampshire Bats 7 to 1 before beating London Metro B 5 to 0.

Elsewhere, a new look Hampshire side secured a rare win after defeating fourth placed London 4 to 1.

The Bats had to play their final two games consecutively and put in some strong performances but were defeated 3 to 1 by Albion and 4 to 2 by South West Rovers.

South West maintained their second spot after also beating London 4 to 0 and Sporting 4 to 1.

In the final game of the day Sporting defeated London B 6 to 1.

Lisburn need 12 points from their remaining eight games to secure promotion to the top flight.

Meanwhile, there is a battle for second place between South West and Sporting Albion, while Hampshire and London B are battling for the bottom two spots.
