This tournament owes its longevity to the fact that 21 years ago a group of VI folk had a table tennis match and enjoyed it so much they decided to play pool the next year!
21 years on and thanks to the hard work and true dedication of David Le Poidevin aka ‘Snowy’; this fine tournament is an annual event, attracting pool players - ladies and gentlemen - from across the UK.
Snowy handed over the administration of the tournament to BBS in 2006, so if you feel like playing a hard fought but fun competition next year please contact: elizabeth@britishblindsport.org.uk for further details.

This Championship was held at Kentish Town Pool Club on 4th March 2006.
Twenty nine competitors took part and the format of the day meant that everyone was guaranteed at least four games. In the men’s event last year’s winner, Dermot Bishop, went out in the quarter finals. John Gaffney finished as runner up for the second successive year, losing a very tense and close final to Danny Kirkland, who, took the title for the first time having twice finished as runner up!
In the Ladies competition Gail Hepworth reclaimed her title by beating Saimah Chohan in the final. Kamran Rahman was the winner of the Plate tournament with Bal Khaira the beaten finalist.
Thanks go to Brian Dackombe, Dawn Anderson and the Kentish Town Pool Club for the smooth running of the event. Next year’s tournament will take place at the same venue on Saturday 3rd March.
