BBS does not receive any regular funding and depends on donations from individuals, companies, charitable trusts and foundations. We need to raise over £300,000 each year to run the charity so that we can continue to provide sports and leisure opportunities for blind and partially sighted people.
Your contribution, however big or small, really makes a huge difference to the lives of so many visually impaired children and adults.

Fundraising Tips & Ideas
- Organise a fundraising event - be original and you'll be sure to be noticed and draw attention to your cause!
- Take part in a sponsored event and get your friends and family to spread the word and find sponsors. Give them their own sponsorship forms to fill in!
- Get the first person on your sponsorship form to lead by example and give £10 - others will hopefully copy them!
- Publicity is great and if you have a company newsletter or intranet, get yourself a mention.
- Ask your company for a donation or to match your fundraising. Find out if they operate a scheme.
- Ask your local pub to add 1p to every drink during an evening, or ask their customers to donate their change.
- Ask your local pub to donate money from a quiz night.
- Organise a raffle or tombola in your local pub or at work (local companies may donate prizes).
- Get your local supermarket to donate a trolley dash as a prize!
- Arrange a collection outside your local supermarket (ask permission first!)
- Go to a car boot sale - ask your friends and colleagues to donate something for you to sell.
- Fancy dress day or dress down day at work, school or college.
- Keep it simple, the simplest ideas are usually the most effective.
- Always allow more time than you think you'll need. Don't leave it till the last minute!
- Don't panic, we are here to help you!
